Role models

Saturday saw me run a training day for a group of specailist coaches, Over lunch and then in the afternoon session the subject of Role models came up, Many of my delgates talk to me about specific clients/ students of theirs and one of the things I suggested over Lunch for one young woman was a role model, I often tell people the story of the time I saved myself from suspesion beacuse I at the time was fond of the IT teacher I dout Id feel the same way now but at the time this particular teacher was very important in my life and in all honesty was probably the reason I wnet to school for alot of the time, putitng this into contect I got bullied or told off everyday and got in cowhat for aawhiole year for struggling to organise my homwork. I often got told off beacuse somone had bene nasty to me aand Id bene nasty back a period later
when I had no friends at school and I had noone to talk to this particular teacher became unbelilvably important. I had to wait at school for my dad till 5:20 and I could often be found in the IT room. I had before been intrested in IT so no suprise then that I got on with the teacher.Somtimes we would talk and somtimes we would just work but it meant somthing to me to be in the same room as somone who didnt hate me and would at least listen to me.Once another kid t the mick out of the way I laughed and the teacher stood up for me since then I have never been scared to lauight and aged 20 I learnt that men can actulaly find my laught attractive and indeed at least 1 has.
We alos had a drinks rota for cans of Pepsi when I started at the school I couldnt evan open the can myself by the time I left I had been taught how to do this, a can of pepsi might not seem very much but the fact that somone would sit with me for that long everyday and evan take turns buying cans of pepsi meant alot. Its rather hard to express what it meant but he basically saved my school career although school for me was a waste of time after the age of 14.
The teacher gaveme projects to do I orgnaised the IT open evening and also designed some webpages and llearnt some basic programming. As he also taught an evning class on VB (visual basic) Doing this helped me no end and are now proud addtions to my CV the skills I learnt from each small task served me well.
But he taught me other things too, he taught me what I wanted to be like. One of My aims in life is to be as good to people as he was too me and to make a special effort for those who need it, To listen and to pay attention to the little things,
I learnt about smart dress and that fun is also good too but making a clear distigstion between work and play in ones dress sense is important, Iwas always bullied at school for my apperance I now have short hair and very often wear a blazer when Im training.
On one of my college courses there was a smart dress requirement and I aws theonly person who made a big thing about it beacuse to me the way one dress says how h/she feels about their job.
The thing that I am most glad of is that my teacher was a safe sensible role model and as I left school and left my teachers behind I went looking for somone to look up to. I think the transistion from school to college or univirsity is very hard and I think the extra free time can be a problem to begin with, when at school I was never veruy much into computer games for my I found that I cant relax and therfore cant enjoy things that arent very serious. I also regreted this and felt had a lack of sense of fun on a activities day I rember I chose to stay in the IT room and I remeber the teacher mentioning to everyone that should anyone be planing on doing any work ( meaning me of course, as I spent most f my tiome on the computers surfing the net or writing or designing things) the network would be a little slow, I ahve never forgottern this discreet message and always truy and be as polite and unassuming whne talking to people who I might make feel embrassed or shaken.
Most of the teachers dindt understand me they didnt understand the need for me to talk or that I might just want to feel that somone liked and wanted me around.Most didnt see he 2 sides of a story except for this 1.
So in my life a role model made all the diffrence I think alot of young people can stray the wrong way so easuily beacuse have Asperger's makes you vvunravbile as you dont understand other people and their motives and you dont know whats right and wrong,
You might not stray to the wriong side of the law but you might end up hurt and taken adavantge of and I dont think there is enought emplasis on this.
Until saturday I hadnt mentioned role models taht much buttit made me think how important they can be, and as alot of you reading this are probably past delgates I wanted to share my experiances beacuse one of you might be a role model to somone with AS so above are the reasons why its so important,
but as always remebre everyone is diffrent.

News at last

Finally I have heard some news bck, apprently its been there since the 8th of febuary but NOBODY TOLD ME WHERE TO LOOK, but ARU have made me a condtional offer YIPPE but the course title has chnaged so too has the tariff points required instead of 160 I now need 200.
Roehampton have also offerd me a place.But no news yet from the others.

Time lapse

Yesterday I tryed my first piceeof timelapse phtoography over an hour and a half. it worked quite well, I now have my video camera back and Im working pretty hard to organise filimg for my film.

No news

No news yet from UCAS as yet although a few days ago I applied online for the ARU open day and today I received more information about it.I want to go to the student union talk, bus tour and accommodation tour,although I shall pop up to the computing department too I should think.
Im really looking foward to September bacuse I think Ill find studying a degree very different from a level 3 course and I think the independence will suit me.
I am surprised how many different degrees there are because to begin with I thought that degrees were standaised.

More UCAS

Yesterday 2 letters arrived from Kingston uni confirming that they had recived my application and some accomidation info from ARU. also arroved a few days ago but it got lost in the post on its way gfrom home to hall.But no word from London southbank or hertfordshire yet.

a story

King John was very Bold when he wanted to be, he always wrote his letters to Guinevere his darling wife in Italics and always underlined the words I Lobe you at the end. Until one day a handsome young man named Wordsworth rode into town on a gallant horse, soon after Wordsworth meet Guinevere he was enchanted
He began writing letters , he knew how to use
Paragraphs
And indentation
After a few letters he wrote My darling Guinevere I am afraid I must confess I love you, Guinevere had felt very touched by Wordworth smart words and clever paragraphs and indents but his spelling was the remarkable thing, he spelt Love properly, Guinevere rode on her horse to see him "Oh Wordsworth thank you for your letter" She said "I loved your use of " speech marks" and ! marks "well thank you said Wordsworth" but the thing I loved most is that you spelt Love without a b, I wish to marry you but how should we get rid of king John, I simply can't leave because of the wee little ones I can arrange that and with that Guinevere rode away,
The next day Guinevere awoke to find King john hit with a

I got a letter from rehampton yesterday and ARU (anglia ruskin uni) today to say they had received my application and ewre processing it
